和名の由来  蝦夷地に自生しているアジサイと言う意味
花の特徴  「ガクアジサイ」と同じような花の付き方で、林間の沢などに自生するアジサイの一種　花の個体差が大きく、生育地の環境の影響で、微妙に花色が変化する　
開花時期  6-7月
分布生育地  北海道　本州北部
